Who we are and what we do

Hull Red is a not for profit community organisation that aims to create social opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Going out, seeing bands, going clubbing, and meeting up with friends are things most of us take for granted. But that’s not the case for everyone.

Hull Red wants to help create opportunities for people with learning disabilities to have a good night out. We believe that people with learning disabilities have the right to stay up late, socialise and have fun.

When it comes to socialising most of us like to have a range of choices. We like to have social networks around activities of interest (like going to the theatre or a specific music gig), and we also like to have places where we can go where we feel completely at home to be ourselves and meet up with old friends. Hull Red is about adding to the range of options available.

We host nightclub events, community festivals, and workshops. We now offer Gig Buddies in Hull & East Yorkshire.

Fundraising

We have been very fortunate in attracting funding to run new projects and our regular nightclub events (nearly) pay for themselves with ticket sales. But there's always more to be done and what we do can always be done more effectively with a bit more financial support.

We’re always out there raising funds for new projects and to keep the existing ones running and we're really making a huge difference to people's life experiences. If you're interested in making a donation privately or as a corporate sponsor, we'd naturally be delighted to hear from you.
