Hull Red Events

Music and arts events for adults with learning disabilities and their friends

The Hull Red Nightclub

The Hull Red Nightclub takes place four or five times each year at The Asylum Club at the University of Hull. The inclusive nightclub is open for everyone aged 18 or over. It was designed for accessibility for adults with learning disabilities and their friends. The Hull Red Nightclub is also very popular with autistic people and people with physical disabilities.

The venue is level access throughout.

What to expect at a Hull Red Nightclub

A proper night out! The music is loud, the bar is always busy, and the lights are low. We have live performances from local bands, playing covers and original music, and the resident DJs keep the dance floor moving all night.

Once a year we host the Billy Boy’s Dance Competition. Its just for fun, but it is a lot of fun! Grab your dance number from the front desk, give your all on the dance floor, and the judges might just pick you out as a winner!

Music & Arts Festivals

They don’t happen every year but when they do, they’re awesome! Our summer festivals are designed with accessibility in mind and are open to everyone. They are our way of inviting the local community to come and experience the warm welcome of the Hull Red events.

Our first Big Gig Festival in 2015 was small but successful and it showed us what we could do. So in 2017 we really went for it with The Big Gig 2017 in Hull’s Pearson Park. We had an incredible turnout with over 7,000 people attending during the day.

In 2018 we teamed-up with Hull’s regular Vista Festival again in Pearson Park. Another fabulous day was had by all. Sadly since then Covid-19 arrived and really messed with the programme, but watch this space for what comes next …
